Black, Bold & Brilliant presents, “Into the Weeds” Film Screening and Post-Film Discussion

Free in-person event: Does the most widely used weed killer cause cancer? This is the story of groundskeeper Lee Johnson and his fight for justice against agrichemical giant Monsanto.

As part of our Black, Bold & Brilliant series, Utah Film Center, in partnership with KRCL is excited to announce our upcoming film screening and post-discussion of Into the Weeds: DeWayne “Lee” Johnson vs. Monsanto Company. Join us Wednesday, March 6th from 7-9 pm at The City Library in Downtown Salt Lake City.

Can the most widely used weed killer cause cancer? Follow Lee Johnson's inspiring journey as he takes on the huge company Monsanto (now Bayer) in a gripping documentary. Johnson's case is the first of many in a legal battle involving thousands of people against Monsanto.

Through interviews, trial clips, and news coverage, the film tracks this landmark case and explores the widespread use of the weed killer Roundup and its impact worldwide.

We invite you to stay after the screening for a Black, Bold & Brilliant team post-film Q&A featuring Into the Weeds film director Jennifer Baichwal.
